First things first

If your reading this, you've mostly likely just received your SkyBox or your SkyBox is on the way and you have an installation coming up. This guide is designed to help you through a few common questions and provide you a few things to do before installation to make sure everything goes smooth.
  1. WiFi - It is very important to have your SkyBox located in a position that has access to good WiFi, before install day, it might be worth having a booster on hand depending on where the SkyBox will be installed, the app is an integral part of knowing what your SkyBox is doing. A good, cheap option: Booster Link
  2. Download the app and create an account: Apple / Android / PC
  3. Let us know the email account you used to sign up - the reason for this is we will associate your account with your SkyBox - it makes install day go much smoother
  4. If you need to make any adjustments to your system or want to upgrade any components, let us know ASAP and we'll make it happen.
  5. For any technical questions—before, during, or after installation—your go-to resource is support.skyenergy.com.au. On the Day

  1. Installation Plan - Your installer will have received an installation plan from us, but sometimes adjustments may be needed. Be sure to discuss any changes with your installer, and if you have any questions, let us know right away—we’re happy to help!
  2. WiFi and App - Before installation, check the WiFi signal at the planned install location to ensure the SkyBox can connect to the app. The last thing you want is to complete the installation only to find the signal isn’t strong enough! If needed, consider using a WiFi booster.
  3. Will my power go out? - Yes, there will be a power outage during installation. The timeframe varies, but for a standard install, expect the power to be out for up to 4 hours
at some point during the day. Your installer will give you a heads-up before it happens.
  4. Payment - Your final invoice will be issued on the last day of installation and is due upon completion. If you anticipate any issues or delays with payment, please let us know in advance so we can assist accordingly. If you have any questions leading up to installation day, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!

How does the SkyBox work?

The SkyBox is your all-in-one energy solution, designed to seamlessly manage your solar power, battery storage, and electricity use. It takes care of everything in the background—optimizing solar generation, battery charging and discharging, and even managing power from the grid or a generator if needed. When everything is running smoothly, the only thing you’ll notice is lower energy bills and reliable power, even during blackouts!

Here’s how it works: during the day, your solar panels generate electricity to power your home. Any excess energy is stored in the battery for use at night. If you're off-grid, the SkyBox can also work with a generator (if installed) to charge the batteries when there isn’t enough sunlight.

How do I know it's working?

Your SkyBox comes with a built-in screen that allows you to quickly check that everything is running smoothly. It provides real-time information on your system's performance and status.

Take a look below to see what the screen looks like, and visit this link to learn more about how it works:

What if something goes wrong?

We are here to help. If you hear any beeping, or see alarms appear on the inverter screen or in the app, take note of what you see and reach out.

Does the SkyBox require maintenance?

The short answer—no! Your SkyBox is built to be low-maintenance, with no moving parts and a durable design that can withstand harsh elements.

That said, to keep it running optimally, make sure the vents are never blocked, and it’s always a good idea to check in on the system from time to time. While the SkyBox is a solid and reliable product, it's always best to stay aware of its performance—just in case.
