Generator general FAQ

Use this guide of you are experiencing issues with your generator.

Step 1. - Identify if the issue is the inverter or the generator.

Turn the generator on and check your system screen or monitoring platform, you should see voltage from the generator side. 
Deye Guide
On the screen of the inverter you should see a small generator icon appear at the bottom in the middle.

Victron Guide
On the device list click on your Multiplus or Quattro


The look for AC IN - it should have voltage (236V) and current (5.8A)


 If you don't have any signal on your inverter as seen above, the issue is most likely on the generator side. Call electrician or installer to check generator connection.

Step 2. I see voltage, but it's not charging.

The most common reason the battery won't charge is the inverter putting too much strain on the generator. Check the input current maximum and lower if required.
Deye
Using the screen do the following.

Gear icon in the top right > Gen Port Use > Rated Power : Use the tactile buttons to set this to the desired rating of the generator or lower.
Victron
Device List > Inverter (Multiplus or Quattro) > Input Current Limit > Set to the desired maximum current
