SkyBox Compliance & Certification FAQ

SkyBox Compliance & Certification FAQ

This guide provides answers to common questions about the SkyBox’s compliance with electrical safety standards, certifications, and installation requirements.

1. Does the pre-assembled SkyBox come with a prescribed Certificate of Electrical Safety?

No, prescribed certificates are issued for completed installations rather than pre-assembled products. However, the inverter and batteries used in the SkyBox are CEC-approved.

2. Is there ventilation approval for installing the inverter without the required clearance specified by the manufacturer?

Yes, Deye has certified this installation. A copy of the agreement is available upon request.

3. The PV array DC isolators on the side of the box don’t seem to comply with Appendix K of AS5033:2021. Should there be a shroud included?

Appendix K applies specifically to DC isolators due to the risk of remaining energized under fault conditions. However, this requirement does not apply to DC breakers used in the SkyBox.

4. There doesn’t appear to be a liquid drain device in the DC switch disconnector enclosure. Is the earth hole considered a drain hole?

This rule applies to isolators due to the risk of water accumulation. The SkyBox is designed to prevent this issue, as conduits do not directly enter the breaker enclosures.

5. The pre-installed rubber grommets seem loose. Do they meet the required IP56 rating?

The grommets are rated to IP54.
